The Parurpu Thengai Koodu is indeed a creative element while arranging for Seer
functions like Valaikaappu, Griha Pravesham, and Shadhabhishekam. These are
presented in a pair of cone-shaped structures which also have got traditional
reasons. The two cones are said to represent a male and female, thus they are
always presented in Pairs. Isn’t it interesting to know the stories behind such
rituals too!
Like most other Paruppu Thengai Koodu, even here the main ingredient of
Pottukadalai ( Fried Gram) is mixed along with Jaggery syrup to bring it to a texture
so that these come out as a perfect sweet in the cone-shape as the tradition
follows.
